Grand Re-Opening of Las Flores Park Aquatic Center

RKA Consulting Group was proud to join the City of La Verne in celebrating the Grand Re-Opening of the Las Flores Park Aquatic Center on Monday, June 24, 2024—an event that marked the official launch of the City's summer pool programming and the completion of a transformative community project.

The afternoon celebration welcomed residents of all ages to enjoy complimentary open swim, free snacks, and exclusive giveaways, culminating in a ribbon-cutting ceremony that honored the collaboration behind the project’s success.

RKA provided full design and construction management services for the renovation of the Aquatic Center, which included:
  •  New pool decking and shade structures
  •  Replastering of the pool basin
  •  Updated, energy-efficient pool lighting and mechanical equipment
  •  Installation of ADA-compliant pool access features
  •  Landscape and infrastructure upgrades throughout the facility

This standout project was recognized with the 2024 APWA Project of the Year Award by the American Public Works Association’s Southern California Chapter, honoring its innovation, quality, and positive community impact.

Funded through a collaborative effort between the City of La Verne, the Bonita Unified School District, the University of La Verne, and a $1.5 million appropriation from Assemblymember Chris Holden, the revitalized facility now serves as a vibrant hub for recreation, swim training, and inclusive aquatic access.

As a long-standing municipal partner, RKA is honored to have played a role in delivering a project that enhances public wellness, encourages active lifestyles, and strengthens civic pride. Congratulations to the City of La Verne on this milestone achievement—we look forward to seeing the community enjoy the Las Flores Park Aquatic Center for years to come.
