RKA Consulting Group provided comprehensive construction management and inspection services for the Oak Park Cemetery Expansion – Phase II in the City of Claremont. The project focused on the construction of new cemetery infrastructure, including grading, pavement, and irrigation improvements to support the City’s long-term site expansion goals.

RKA led the effort from pre-construction through final project closeout, serving as the City’s representative in the field and as project liaison between contractors, the design team, and City staff.

Construction Management Scope Included:

• Coordination of the pre-construction meeting and kickoff with the contractor
• Management and tracking of submittals, RFIs, and project correspondence
• Verification of contractor invoices and certified payrolls
• Weekly communication with City staff through phone calls, emails, and on-site meetings
• Final punch list preparation and review of work to ensure all specifications were met

Construction Inspection Services Included:

• Daily site observations and documentation of contractor activities
• Monitoring of contractor safety practices, NPDES compliance, and BMP implementation
• Field verification of installed quantities against bid items and contract documents
• Oversight of contractor performance and verification of schedule adherence

The project was anticipated to span 40 working days, with RKA providing consistent oversight and reporting throughout construction. Inspection services were estimated at 120 hours total, with an average of three hours per day dedicated to on-site activities and reporting.
